Apple Getting Skinned

The web is buzzing with unflattering commentary about Apple's latest TV campaign. I'll be writing about it soon.

As a byproduct of Apple's ad problems, a post I wrote last year is getting a lot of attention and traffic.

If you're interested, the piece is called Advertising And The Future Of Apple and you can find it here.

i'm constantly amazed at how the world is always only JUST finding out about you. you're like marketing's best kept secret.

Also, here's something you should watch, by Simon Sinek. Spare the time if you haven't already, I know 18:35 can be daunting. But it will keep coming back to reward you. He describes why Apple's advertising works, and other fun stuff about how leaders think differently.

The Marty Scorsese spot is flat out painful to watch.   All of the celeb & Siri ads are.

Whoops.  I should have clicked the link first.  I saw Apple and just assumed it was the new Siri ad.  The iMac ad is pretty bad as well.

As a holder of a pretty fair amount of Apple stock, I paid very much attention to your original post. And knowing what kind of guy you are, have been waiting for your prediction to come true. As it has. Again. Do you ever get tired of being right? Anyway, Bob, do you think it's really time to dump the stock, or is the brand strong enough to withstand a few crappy ads?

Apparently, they have hidden forces....

Now, you just need to look at the logo to be more creative, and this is a "scientific fact"... of course.
